Work

Case studies from banking and hospitality. Each one shows the problem, what I did, and the copy itself, in English and Arabic where the product has both.

Case studies

Emirates NBD Banking

Giving Arabic its own rulebook

Co-writing the Arabic edition of Emirates NBD’s UX Writing Style Guide, adapting each rule to how Arabic actually works instead of translating the English one.

Problem
Content standards across two languages
Stage
Ongoing
Title slide of the Emirates NBD UX Writing Style Guide, Section 2, Language Standards, reading دليل كتابة تجربة المستخدم باللغة العربية (Arabic UX writing guide), with the label الإصدار 1.0 — 2026 (version 1.0, 2026).

Turning a translation deadline into a shared library

After translating a six-page journey into Arabic by hand, I proposed a shared English–Arabic UX writing library in Emirates NBD’s design system. With Figma AI mapping screens to it, translating a large journey could drop from about 8 hours to 1 hour of review.

Problem
Translating and keeping copy consistent at scale
Stage
Phase one launched
A phone lock screen with notifications from Figma AI, the UX Writing Library and the design system, announcing that a journey has been switched to Arabic.

A car loan application, step by step

UX writing and Arabic localization for Emirates NBD’s auto loan flow, a multi-step application where customers need to know where they are and what they’re agreeing to.

Problem
Multi-step application flow
Stage
In development
Auto loan app screen, step 3 of 5: How would you like to continue? with two options, I want a pre-approval and I already finalized a car.

El Gouna Hospitality

Finding the words that slowed guests down

Reading a mobile usability study of the elgouna.com booking flow for the problems caused by language, then localizing the site’s 1,045 strings across English, German and Arabic.

Problem
Content issues in a hotel booking flow
Stage
Research and recommendations
The Hotel Info panel for Steigenberger Golf Resort El Gouna in the elgouna.com booking flow, with tabs for Gallery, Map and Video, a short description, contact details, a photo of the resort on the lagoon, a Highlights list and a Useful Information section on breakfast, dining, Wi-Fi and check-in.

The Chedi El Gouna Hospitality

A room carousel guests can scan in seconds

I rewrote the homepage content for The Chedi El Gouna, a Red Sea resort, on desktop and mobile. Each room card now leads with what makes that room different, so guests can compare six room types at a glance.

Problem
Long, similar room descriptions that were hard to compare
Stage
Delivered for the homepage redesign
Mockup of the room carousel showing two cards, Deluxe Room: Relax & Refresh, and Premium Sea View: Enjoy the Vibrant Views, each with a short description and four facts.

Long-form writing

Before product writing, I wrote guides and articles for websites. A few that are still online:
